Tuc is a blog service provider and an online community that I have run for 7 years, now with more than 500 registered users.
Universal City (uc.yueds.com) was a BBS website written in Perl CGI. It was just a chatting room for my friends when it opened. By its attracting appearance and my continuous developing, the population had grown to 100 at the end of 2002, most of which are my schoolmates. We talk about books, music, movies and comics. In the following years, I've upgraded its program for hundreds of times. Before 2004, virtual shopping and career system (gain points by playing mini games) have been introduced. Since then, Universal City is not only a forum, but also an online-community.
In the summer of 2007, I started to develop a brand new website called Tuc (www.tuc.cn), as the successor of Universal City. Tuc is designed to be a blog service provider (BSP). It runs on an embedded module to Apache server, called mod_perl, so it runs much faster than CGI programs. Besides its outstanding performance, Tuc also has exciting new features, including:
